White fillings are made from a composite resin that we shade-match to your tooth. Once it’s placed and polished, it is very hard to tell where the filling ends and your tooth begins.
Because composite bonds directly to the tooth, we can often remove less healthy tooth structure than with older metal fillings.

Common questions
In many cases, yes. If an old filling is worn, cracked or leaking, we can talk about replacing it with a tooth-colored option.
White fillings harden right away. We do suggest waiting until the numbness wears off so you don’t accidentally bite your cheek or tongue.
Some mild sensitivity for a few days is normal. If it lingers or your bite feels off, give us a call and we will take a look.
