When a filling isnβt enough
When a tooth is cracked, heavily filled, badly worn or weakened after a root canal, a crown wraps around it to hold it together and protect it from further damage.
Crowns are shaded to match your nearby teeth, so they blend in naturally. They can also be used to cover a dental implant or anchor a bridge.

Common questions
We numb the area, gently shape the tooth, take impressions and place a temporary crown. When your permanent crown is ready, we fit, adjust and bond it in place.
The tooth is fully numbed, so most patients feel only pressure. Some mild tenderness afterward is normal and usually fades within a few days.
With good brushing, flossing and regular visits, crowns often last many years. Avoid using your teeth to open packages or chew ice.
